BK-100

Products Specifications:

BK^®-100 is an organoclay (tetraallkyl ammonium bentonite) for solvent-based systems of low, medium and high polarity.

1. Advantages:

☆ High gelling efficiency over low,medium and high polarity organic liquids.
☆ Easy of incorporation.No need for polar activator or making pregel.
☆ Consistent in rheology and thixotropy development.
☆ Easy of dispersion especially in styrene and alcohol solvent. Dust-free addition.
☆ Good anti-sagging property and anti-sediment property.
☆ Can replace fumed silica in epoxy resin systems and unsaturated resin systems with better thixotropy performance and more economical price.

4.      Incorporations:

BK^®-100 belongs to the unconventional type of organoclays group, being an easy-to-disperse, self-activated organoclay, BK^®-100 does not require a chemical (polar) activator to reach the proper level of delamination of the organoclay platelet stacks.

However, in systems like styrene, xylene,200#solvent oil and compund solvent, pre-gel method is also acceptable.

5.      Recommended Levels:

The amount of BK^®-100 rheological additive required depends upon the type of organic system and the degree of thickening or other properties desired. Addition levels are typically between 0.2%-0.6% based on the total formulation weight. For special purpose, for example, in hand layup unsaturated resin,1-6% is recommended.
